Sheikh Yerbodhi raids again....

Sheikh Yerbodhi and the raiding Bedouin light horse set off for another bout of plundering. Byzantine Asia Minor was a favouritee target. Yerbodhi flies the pink and green standards of the Fatimids

The successful raid - a caravan full of slaves and booty wends its way back home as fast as possible, hoping to avoid Byzantine reprisals and reach Bedouin territory first

Success - the Hamdanid Bedouin main army - Ghulams and light horse here - ride out to cover the caravan (rear) as it scuttles for Aleppo. The Hamdanids were still nominally vassals of the Abbasid Caliph, so the black banner of the Abbassids is flown by the Hamdanid Amir

Black-coated guard light cavalry charge forward - the Hamdanids inherited much of the Abbassid military structure after the Abbassids fragmented, so the continued existence of such guard units is very possible - a boon for morphing

Bedouin lance-armed heavy cavalry move into battle array, behind is a small unit of Ghulams. By this period Bedouin shields are a mix of round and almond shields

Bedouin Ahdath militia march out to confront the Byzantine army. In the Hamdanid army they are Hd(O), but they double as Spearmen in many other contemporary Arab armies

Mercenary Dailami foot move into the fight, while bomb-throwing Naffatun attempt to discomfit the enemy
