The most Serene Repvblic of Venice

The Venetian army in Greece is an interesting and colourful blend between Western Europe and the Turkish East, with a mix of Old Byzantium and the Balkans for added spice. I am currently in the building stage. My trusty Pike n' Shot form the base of a 17 th Century Venetian DBR force, with the added spice of the Scapoli, Stradiotti, Sclavionians etc - and even a French Ally on good days. Venice also adds a large fleet of galleys and ships to this colourful mix of troops. I plan another army - A Medieval/Renaissance Venetian Condottiere army as a 15th century DBM/DBR crossover army, a 16th century DBR army that bridges the transition between early gunnery and later musketry.

One of my greatest pleasures has been to visit parts of Venetian Greece and the balkans, it is a very beautiful part of the world, and soon I plan to put up many of my photos a Venetian Photograph Album.
