Sancreed Holy Well

Re-discovered 1879. Lies in a sheltered pine and holly grove. Above the well is the remains of an old chapel.

Described by Heather Staffon as follows:-
"It has a number of steps going down into what feels like the womb of the mother earth herself, aglow with moss-green phosphorescence."

The spot always seems to possess a greater air of mystery and sanctity than any other in Cornwall.

It is a mysterious dreamy place adorned with ribbons and other offerings and reputed to have great healing powers.
