Tech Crew

If your show needs technical crew or assistance, please check out the on-line portfolios of some of our regular team. If you'd like to engage one or more of the backstage staff listed here, follow the contact details associated with each member or drop an e-mail to crew@abbeytheatre.co.uk

ALL of our technical staff are volunteers. However, if you would like to show appreciation for any of the people shown below, any donations will be pooled by the Arts Council for the benefit of all crew members.

It is the hirer's responsibility to provide technical staff for any and all performances at the Abbey Theatre.
If you experience difficulties we will do our best to accommodate your needs but this may not always be feasible due to the increasing demands on the time of a relatively small number of volunteers.

Outside staff not familiar with the equipment they need to use for any show/event must satisfy the Abbey Theatre that they are competent to do so in a safe and quality manner. Training on relevant items can be given in advance if requested via the Abbey Technical Director.
Equipment involved includes theatre lighting & sound desks and associated items, pyrotechnic effects, dry ice etc.

	Dickie Dimmers	Super head techie, demolitions and catastrophe a speciality	Dickie joined the team ten years ago not so much as a technical expert, more of a wannabe explosives fanatic. His tendency to wreck more than he built soon made him the reputation of the worst ever stage hand in the history of stage hands. His main claim to fame was when he tried to create a fantastic finale for the Jodie Brummage Dance Team and over-did the pyro charges by around 400%, which, in actual fact, darned near gave the stage something that it's needed for many years - the space for a new fly tower! The watchword for Dickie is - if you value the health and wealth of your cast and crew, DON'T employ this guy!
