Front of House Staff

What the FoH Manager will need from you, the hirer.

The front of house (FoH) personnel on duty have the responsibility of looking after the paying public - the audience.

Another behind-the-scenes task which is often forgotten by users of the venue, it is one perhaps best managed by those associated with the performers.

Whilst not essential, it is preferred that those staffing the theatre doors be dressed smartly, even in dinner jackets/suits (for the men).

The responsibilities of the FoH staff are:
  • Take payment for tickets (box office) on the door.
  • Take ticket stubs from patrons at the doors to the auditorium.
  • Escort patrons to seats as appropriate.
  • Assist less-abled/disabled patrons as appropriate.
  • Be aware of the fire safety/evacuation policy for the building.
  • Be aware of any and all first-aid trained staff in the building for both patrons and cast/crew.

What the FoH Manager will need from you

The FoH Manager, whether they are from your own group or the Abbey Theatre staff, will need the following information:

  • Advance indication of the expected ticket sales (to allow enough staff to deal with them)
  • Details of any persons in your group with first aid training.
  • Advance notice of any disabled patrons and which performance they will be attending.
