| Tony, presently both
chairman of the Arts Council and Technical Director for the venue, has
been working in one capacity or another at the Abbey since 1984. His
first show here was with the Atherstone Amateur Operatic & Dramatic
Society's visiting production of "Showtime 82" the year before.
Tony was invited to take up the position of venue stage
manager in '84, after joining the Centre Theatre Company as their SM.
Having previous experience in the Atherstone theatre groups, he built on
that background by exploring all aspects technical both here and at
other venues in the area. He has in the past worked in a variety of
technical stage roles at the Civic Hall, Bedworth, Concordia Theatre,
Hinckley and various venues in Atherstone, although his attention has
been mainly on the Abbey Theatre for some ten years or more.
Most of Tony's attention these days centres on the
running of the venue, and management of staffing the various shows as
needed. He does, however, try to take control of the occasional show,
and he is technical manager/lighting designer for PR Productions.
