News Groups and Forums

There are a number of useful discussion groups on the internet both for artistic and technical aspects of theatre. I've listed some of these with a brief description of each.

Web based groups tend to be accessed via an internet browser, whilst those that are specific news groups are usually accessed via a mail program such as Outlook. Some can be accessed in both formats, and many are archived on the 'net so users can refer back to topics discussed previously. There are also some mailing lists, which members register their interest, and the discussions are e-mailed as and when they arrive at the host mail server.

It should be said that younger members of any group must maintain vigilance when using any type of newsgroup or chat room, in that at all times personal safety must be guaranteed. Please use these groups with this in mind and take care not to make any personal arrangements with anyone that you do not actually know.
