Radio Microphone Licencing All of the radio microphones owned by the Abbey Theatre use either de-regulated frequencies (ie no license required) or are covered by the theatre's own license. Documentation detailing the frequencies permitted for use within the building can be found on display in the control room sound area, but for convenience are also listed below.
The Abbey Theatre is licensed through JFMG Ltd (Joint Frequency Management Group) who work on behalf of OfCom (formerly the RA - Radiocommunications Agency). Full details of the role of JFMG and how frequencies can be licensed are on their website - www.jfmg.co.uk. Note - the Abbey Theatre can hire or loan these microphones to outside users, but a 'permit to use' must be completed in all cases, signed by the license holder. |
