The working size of our stage is 25 feet opening width of proscenium arch, with 18 feet depth from front to rear edge of main-stage. There is a 4 ft deep 16 feet wide stage extension (apron) flanked by two sets of treads to the auditorium floor, with a corner stage extension (approx 7 feet 6 ins by 4 feet) in front of each proscenium leg. Working height to the grid is approx 16 feet. If ordering hired stage cloths for hanging or running on tab tracks, these ideally will need to be 16 feet high and at least 26 feet width. Adjustment is feasible (though time consuming) for tabs/swipes to allow for cloth height of approx 14 feet. At present (March 2007) the rear track is set
up as a tab line, whilst the two intermediary tracks are in swipe-track
arrangements. Plans to increase the availability of tab tracks is planned for
mid 2007. The stage will consist of a minimum of velour red house tabs, one set of intermediate black tabs, and the option of either black tabs or white cyclorama at the rear of stage (both available). the wings are masked with 3 pairs of black wing curtains (legs). Use of up to 4 folding rostra (8 ft by 2 ft by
18 ins high), with 2 x 4 ft wide treads to suit and 2 x 2 ft wide get-off
treads. All rostra are black. Other staging needs can be addressed on request. A choice of three smoke machines - Jem ZR12 DMX, Jem Magnum 800 or Jem Magnum 550 (latter two both analogue remote control). Access to Jem 24/7 haze machine. A variety of different slash (glitter) curtains - in Gold, Silver, Blue, Red, Peach, Green and Multi-coloured. The theatre has in our stores, various hard flattage and rostra available for use by user groups for scenery building in-house. A variety of properties and stage equipment is also accessible on request. |
