For the
3rd Year Running
The ARC Greek Night Was Held At the
Athens
Restaurant
30-31, Paradise Circus, Birmingham on
3rd October 2008 |
|
| |
...and this year it was
ARC's 5th Birthday too! |
|
| |
It all
started so quietly; a small get together, organised by ARC for around 20
of their clients and friends.
Having spent more than one aimless night, in Birmingham, on the Friday
night of the NFE, Fiona Corallini and Sam Fallows, of ARC Media had an idea,
and decided to see what people felt
about a Greek themed evening.
The idea was so well received that, by the end of
June, numbers were exceeding all expectations and the girls had had to
phone the restaurant, more than once,
to change the arrangements'.
At the BFA Summer Reception Fiona invited Dan
Archer, Head of Marketing, and asked how many more from the BFA
would like to come along.
Unbeknownst to Fiona YELL were in
conversation with Dan Archer, then of the BFA, regarding the sponsorship of
a drinks reception at the NFE. Dan put the two together and the
1st ARC Media "Greek Night Out" was born! |

90 franchisors, their franchisees
& support teams came to the event, and despite a long day at
the show and huge traffic problems they all got there in one
piece to enjoy the free drinks (via vouchers for each guest) and
a Greek Meze
style buffet meal.
Welcoming words, introductions
and thanks and then it was over to restaurant owner Savos and the superb staff at the
Athens.
An unsuspecting
Fiona and Sam (and then Beckey) ended up on a table
dancing to Greek music,
much to the appreciation of all present,
several of the guests soon follow suit. This set the tone
for the following two events as well! |

The 2008 event was especially memorable as it was also ARC Media's 5th
Birthday, as well as the third year they had organised and
hosted the Greek night; this time with joint sponsorship from
Daltons Media & Making Money, as well as a round of
drinks from Mark Monument, Job Done Promotions (Regional
Franchise Exhibitions) and 3 x Magnums of Champagne -
1 each for a FREE raffle plus Best Dressed Male & Female Pirate Awards
from VMG (British & National Franchise Exhibitions),
Business Franchise Magazine & FranchiseInfo.co.uk.
ARC Media felt that a 'Fancy Dress Theme' was appropriate
for a birthday bash and decided on 'Pirates'! They had also
created a 'Pirate Treasure Hunt Map' and amassed 17 pieces of
'treasure ranging from a pirate rubber duck to three luxury
hampers, with the proceeds of the 'hunt' going to charity. Star
prize - 32" plasma TV being donated by Making
Money. |

The restaurant was festooned with pirate bunting, with 'Beware
Pirates' table runners and even tiny, pirate themed, party
sprinkles and black pirate balloons on each table. All the
sponsors were dressed as pirates with an extra special effort
being made by Fiona's husband (Aldo 'Cap'n Jack'
Corallini).
All the main party sponsors were delighted to see so many guests
who had also made the effort to join in the party theme - have a
look at all the pictures and you'll see what we mean!
Guests lined up to put their 10 'X's on the pirate map to try
and win one of the treasures and £520.00 was raised for the 'togetheraware'
charities.
Everyone had a fantastic time and can't wait for next year! |
