Welcome to the website of Hurworth & Darlington Community First Responder

As an additional frontline resource available to the North East Ambulance Service, we are volunteers who cover an area in South Durham consisting of the large township of Darlington and several outlying villages. Trained in Basic Life Support, CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) we are dispatched to life-threatening emergencies in our local community by Ambulance Control.

This website aims to give you more information on the role of First Responders, how we operate in our local community and how you can become a part of your local scheme.

The Hurworth & Darlington Community First Responder scheme is entirely self-funded with no financial support from the Ambulance Service or the NHS. We therefore rely on fundraising and kind donations from local people, businesses and organisations, to help purchase equipment and keep the scheme operational.

Fundraising & Sponsorship Appeal - we urgently require local businesses to come forward and provide financial assistance. Please see the "Local Support" section ...
