Welcome to the Emerald City Orchids website by Adam Taylor. This website gives information and advice about growing orchids on windowsills in the home. It also shows that it is possible to grow orchids sucessfully in air conditioned offices and showcases many photos from my collection. All photos are plants grown by me and flowered indoors either in Seattle, USA, or East Kent, UK where I now live. Since most of the plants were acquired while in Seattle I've called the site Emerald City, but the plants are all growing nicely now here in the UK. I hope that you will be inspired to give these plants a try in your own home. I've recently acquired a greenhouse and will be adding a section of greenhouse growing in the near future.

The photos were taken either with a 3CCD video camera in still mode or with a digital camera. Practically no editing of photos has been applied, save for the occasional bit of cropping. I try and avoid altering the colour on photos unless the picture is obviously very different from the real thing. I'm gradually adding to these pages as various plants flower that I've not had in flower before. Enjoy!
