Lc. Taiwan City 'General' is a recent cross from Taiwan, one parent being Lc. Royal Emperor 'Wade' a well known true red clone (the other parent is Waianiae Sunset). This particular plant photo does not display the true colour, which is a diamond dust red that looks fire engine red under halogen light, or brick red under fluorescent lights. My photo looks too orange. It is not a strong grower, but the true colour is excellent. The lip is closed over the column, which used to be a desired trait and is unusual in being magenta, unlike the rest of the flowers red colour.

This was its first flowering.

Plant height is around 16 inches.
