Stay Family
Friendly Obviously, the most simple and obvious rule is to
stay rated PG (Parental Guardian). There are both Stargate and Atlantis
fans all over the Internet, of all ages, not just adults. This includes
all the content in your posts, links, signature, avatar, profile,
and private messages to other members. Keep your content clean and
friendly to all users. Any of this content will go towards an official
warning against your account and restrictions installed. Remember,
The Mods have the final say on what content is PG and what isn't.
We'll notify you if the lines are over-stepped. NOTE : The
'family friendly' rule does not apply to Off-Topic discussions.
Enter at your own risk.
Respect Fellow
Members There is to be no personal attacks of any kind on
the forum. Save this for messenger or private message. Disagreements,
debates, and opinions are fine, but anything other than this that
isn't positive, keep off the forum. No personal comments against
one individual or more is not welcome. Stay friendly on the forum.
If you feel you must comment negatively on a user, do so elsewhere,
not on the forum.
No SPAM [Short
Pointless Annoying Messages] The Stargate Forum strongly
inputs a no tolerance SPAM policy. There is to be no advertising
of any kind, commercials, banners, links, and any other means. Any
links to other sites is strictly prohibited, unless posted in the
correct portion of the forum. The Mods will decide what posts are
defined as SPAM. Obvious spammers that join only to SPAM will be
dealt with immediately, meaning they will have their account deleted
and IP address banned.
Look Before
You Post There's a useful tool built into the board, and
it's called a search box. There's a chance that the topic you're
looking for already exists. If not, then post the thread, but also
look before you post. We don't want a mass of duplicate topics popping
up everywhere. Duplicate posts will either be merged or deleted.
Spoiler Warnings The
Stargate Forum integrates a policy to ensure that spoilers are addressed
with a clear warning. Not everyone wishes to be told about recently
shown or upcoming episodes of either show, so please address
any information that isn't in the right episode thread with a spoiler
warning. Dedicated season folders and dedicated season episodes
have threads that don't need to contain a spoiler warning. If you're
posting in a season seven folder and talk about a season nine episode,
include a warning of what episode you're referring to, just so the
reader knows what to read, and what not to.
Stay On-Topic If
your post, or a number of posts are drifting away from the point
of the topic, The Mods will quickly plot it back on course. If you
still wish to continue your discussion of that matter, create a
thread in the appropriate folder. In rate instances, the posts drifting
the topic will be removed.
No Copyrighted
Content Content that belongs to somebody other than you should
give you permission before you can reprint or reuse any information
that the original owner has possession of; however, a link to the
original source is also acceptable, if applicable.
Episode Downloading The
Stargate Forum is not a place to request, trade, advertise, or download
copyrighted television series and / or films of any kind. Keep this
talk private and off the forum. This kind of content can get the
forum closed down permanently, therefore, the posts of such kind
will be deleted and the member placed on either moderation or banned
completely.
One Account
Per Person We request that only one account is registered
per person. Members who have registered more than one account can
easily be identified via IP address. Already, duplicate email registrations
have been disabled. Although IP tracking is not foolproof, it is
the most effective means of tracking duplicate users, instantly.
Accounts registered under the same IP will be sent a message where
you must select which account you will keep. The other(s) will be
removed. If you do not respond to the request, all of the accounts
will be removed.
Minimum Size If
you're going to use images in your signature, it must rest somewhere
on a server on the Internet. If the image is not yours, ensure you
have permission to use it. Signatures must not exceed 100KB or 650x200
pixels. Signatures breaking this term will be removed.
Remember The
Content Don't forget, as a reminder, this forum is PG rated.
Do not include unwanted images or links within your signature.
This includes links to file sharing sources such as BitTorrent.
Content of such will have you signature permissions removed, and
account settings restricted.
No Template
Breaking Your links and images in your signature must not
exceed the default forum template. The maximum size of your signature
cannot exceed 650x200 pixels. Signatures that step past this amount
will be removed.
If you break
a rule, expect consequences. We are not a relaxed moderating team
and we do not expect anything less than full co-operation with our
rules outlined, therefore, members that break a rule can expect
the consequences to be lengthy and obviously, annoying.
Depending on
the circumstances, the punishment will be a standard warning and
a email from the team. In more rare occasions such as spammers,
the account will be removed from the system, and the IP address
banned. We do not tolerate any means of spamming on this forum.
The Moderators
reserve the right to edit your posts, threads, and user information
in any way they deem necessary. The Mods will only do such a thing
if there is a reason, and that reason will not be questioned. The
Mods took action for a reason, you don't need us to repeat what
you've done. Reposting content that was removed by The Mods will
instantly have you banned from The Stargate Forum.
