Kration

I have been a MechWarrior since MW2 (best intro movie and soundtrack), played through MW3 (most skill required - lag shooting, ahhh the good old days) and now MW4 (best teamplay). I am not a brilliant player (just see my win %) but I am relatively consistent.

I like the idea of UKM as a UK based unit, and the fact that we have survived (with a rotation of pilots) shows that this is a good principle for a unit. Despite the UK emphasis of the unit, I despise any aspect of nationalism - and I think the relaxed but well organised approach of UKM reflects this. The main idea of the unit is to win, and also to have fun playing the game (although I do more of the latter than the former).

My favourite game is the arcade classic BattleZone, and was attracted to MW because it reminds me of that - big machines blasting each other in futuristic landscapes. Apologies to the BattleTech evangelists out there.

A few people have asked me about my name. My 'arcade' name has always DX or Dexy (based on my 'real' name). But, when I came to sign on the Zone, Dexy was already in use - so I had to choose another name. 'kration' was a character in a book I was reading at the time, so I decided to use it as a temporary measure, and it stuck. The book was "Night and the City" by Gerald Kersh, in case you were wondering - a superb novel about the 1930's London underworld.

In my real life I earn money by doing something or other, sometimes. I live in Newcastle upon Tyne (TOON ARMY!!!), but am from Lancashire originally. Age-wise, I am older than Vega and younger (just) than MetalMother.

My pastimes are swimming, reading, scuba-diving, drinking alcoholic stuff of any form, football and driving my car (a nice black Mazda sporty coupe thing). And playing MW; far, far, far too much.
