Korfball presents a new and exciting opportunity for sponsors as we head into the
new millenium.
In the Netherlands, Korfball has a high media profile, with many Korfball events televised, and radio and newspaper
coverage of all the major games.
Other television coverage varies from country to country.
In the UK the sport has had it's share of media coverage, both TV and otherwise, but remains a little known sport
nationwide.
This situation is however slowly changing and many sponsorship opportunities exist within British Korfball which
may prove interesting to many forward looking companies and small businesses.
A number of key events take place annually including the British Association Cup final, normally held at the National
sports centre at Crystal Palace, with finals also played at a number of junior level age groups.
The British national side competes in an annual friendly with the Netherlands, held in the UK on a twice yearly
basis, an event which regularly provides and exciting and entertaining spectacle to the spectators.
In 1996 Great Britain hosted the highly
successful European Cup and other European cup tournaments are planned
for 2001.
The Korfball School
of Excellence is a
project aimed at raising
the individual standards
of young player who
display the potential to
compete at the highest
levels at the sport.
Activities currently
include a residential
summer course at the
National Sports Centre
at Crystal Palace and a
regular training group/
