My home was Bootle for 27 years, a district of Liverpool, Merseyside England UK, it has dock land stretching 3-4 miles south to Liverpool City where the famous Liver Building and Albert Dock is situated. Bootle has the second largest container base in the UK and is at the mouth of the River Mersey where some of the biggest ships in the world have sailed in and out of including the QE2. There is a well known song named after it “Ferry cross the Mersey” We also have the worlds greatest Steeple Chase The Grand National. Wavertree is one of the oldest townships in Liverpool where I was born, lived and worked for half of my life. I therefore consider Wavertree as my Home Town also. The City has many fine buildings, art galleries, and museums, that attract tourists from all over the world. There are two under river tunnels one under river rail tunnel and one bridge over it. The City has two famous football clubs, a six sided clock tower of which there are only two in the world the other being in Russia. Liverpool is a great musical City, the famous Beatles, Holly Johnson ( Frankie goes to Hollywood ), and of course many others. We also have the well known Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. On Grand National race days the famous Concord used to fly into Liverpool Airport at Speke one of the few that could accommodate it. Speke, a suburb of Liverpool, and close to the airport has a 1st Century Medieval hall open to the public for most of the year. Liverpool is well placed for London in the south and Edinburgh / Glasgow in the north. Snowdonia in North Wales, and the Lake District in Cumberland. By the way in New York they have an old sailing ship docked at South street Seaport named Wavertree
I now live in North Wales with lovely views of the Irish sea
