The move from Grade 6 to Grade 5 is dependent on the ability of the performer.

The qualifying scores from Grade 5 to Grade 4 are recommended only – performers may enter Grade 4 when their coach is satisfied they are ready and can perform the routine safely. If the qualifying score is achieved twice progression is compulsory.

Entry to Grade 3 can only be made by achieving the qualifying score. Competitors who achieve the qualifying score twice in Grade 4 are required to progress to Grade 3 but there is no compulsory progression from Grade 3 to Grade 2 or from Grade 2 to Grade 1.
