As a general rule 0.1 of tarrif is earned for each quarter rotation and each half twist. This can be applied to basic moves, for example "front drop" earns 0.1 and the return to feet also earns 0.1 (remember front drop to feet is two moves each with a quarter rotation). "Back drop half twist to feet" will earn 0.3, 0.1 for the back drop (a quarter rotation from feet to back) and 0.2 for the half twist to feet (0.1 for the quarter rotation to feet and 0.1 for the half twist. A swivel hips is 0.1 for the half twist element.
From Jan 2001 skills involving complete somersaults will gain a bonus of 0.1 on top of the 0.4 (0.1 for every quarter rotation)already awarded for each complete somersault. Skills of 360o or more without twist will gain a bonus of 0.1 if done in a straight of piked position. Skills of 720o or more, with or without twist, will attract a bonus of 0.2 if done in a piked or straight position. Note Triples and beyond don't get more than 0.2 bonus for shape.
