Technical Terms and Moves 
| Amplitude | The tightness of a shape (tuck or pike) which earns good form |
| Arabian | 1/2 twist into front somersault |
| Arabian Crash Dive | 1/2 twist into crash drive |
| Back pullover | 3/4 back somersault from back landing, usually to feet |
| Ball out | 1 1/4 front somersault from back landing to feet |
| Barani | Front somersault with 1/2 twist |
| Barani ball-out | 1 1/4 front somersault from back, with 1/2 twist to feet |
| Bed | The landing surface of a trampoline |
| Bounce Roll | Front somersault from back to back |
| Cast | Sideways travel during a move |
| Cat twist | Full twist from back to back |
| Cody | A somersault from a front landing-usually 1 1/4 back somersault to feet |
| Corkscrew | from a back landing, 1 1/2 twists to back drop - with 180 degrees forward rotation. (ie cradle + full twist) |
| Crash dive | 3/4 front somersault from feet to back |
| Cradle | Back drop, 1/2 twist to backdrop - with 180 degrees forward rotation. |
| Difficulty | Alternative name for tariff |
| Double full | Single back somersault with 2 twists |
| Double bouncing | Two people jumping on the same trampoline |
| Fliff or Fliffus | Any double somersault with twist |
| Form | Neatness and shape looked at by the judges- technique, body position, arms, legs, body tension etc. |
| Forward turnover | Forward rotation; usually from hands and knees to back or seat, or from feet to back |
| Full | Single back somersault with 1 twist |
| Full-in | Double back somersault with 1 twist in 1st somersault |
| Full-in, full out | Double back somersault with 1 twist in both 360 degree phases |
| Full-in, half-out | Double front somersault with 1 twist in 1st somersault and 1/2 twist in 2nd somersault |
| Full-out | Double back somersault with 1 twist in 2nd somersault |
| Gain | travel in the opposite direction to the rotation |
| Half-in | Double front somersault with 1/2 twist in the 1st somersault |
| Half-in, half-out | Double front somersault with 1/2 twist in each somersault phase |
| Half-in, rudi-out | Double front somersault with 1/2 twist in the 1st somersault and 1 1/2 twists in 2nd phase |
| Half-out | Double front somersault with 1/2 twist in the 2nd somersault (also called a barani out) |
| Kaboom | Somersault from front (or back), where a double contact is made. The legs hit the bed momentarily after the body, reversing the rotation of the body |
| Kick out | Extention of the legs to straight body position after the shape phase of a somersault |
| Kip | Coaching technique to boost the power of the trampoline by it being depressed just before the performers landing |
| Layout | Alternative (old) term for the straight body position |
| Lazy back | 3/4 back somersault to front |
| Line out | Technique where the performer places their arms neatly in line with the body on kick-out of a shaped somersault or while twisting |
| Log roll | Full twist from front drop to front drop |
| Miller | Triple twisting double back somersault |
| Out bounce | Controlled straight bounce allowed after a competition routine |
| Phasing | The balance and timing of performing take-off, shape and landing of a move with good form |
| Pike | Body position where the legs are straight and together, and the body is bent at the hips. For cometition the minimum angle is 135 degrees |
| Pike jump | Move showing the pike shape (no rotation or twist) |
| Randolph, or randy | Single from=nt somersault with 2 1/2 twists |
| Randy ball out | 1 1/4 front somersault from back to feet, with 2 1/2 twists |
| Rig | Overhead apparatus ith a belt to allow the coach to support a move while the performer is learning |
| Roller | Full twist from seat landing to seat landing |
| Routine | Sequence of 10 moves linked, with no straight bounces |
| Rudolph, Rudi | Front somersault with 1 1/2 twists |
| Rudi ball out | 1 1/4 front somersault from back to feet with 1 1/2 twists |
| Set | Compulsory routine in competition |
| Short | When somersaults have a lack of rotation |
| Spotting | a) landing in the same place as taking off - keeping to the centre of the bed b) standing by the side or end of the trampoline to stop a performer falling off |
| Straddle jump | As a pike jump but with legs apart. For competition they must be a minimum of shoulder width apart |
| Straight | Body position where the legs are in line with the body. For competition thighs must be greater than 135 degrees to the body |
| Swingtime | Moves done consecutively as in a routine, often two moves alternated and repeated |
| Swivel hips | Seat drop, 1/2 twist to seat drop |
| Synchro | Two people jumping on separate trampolines in time with each other |
| Synchronisation, Synch | How well the pair of synchro competitors are in time with each other |
| Tariff | Numerical score given to a move or routine based on the amount of rotation, twist, shape etc. |
| Travel | Movement along the tramploline in the same direction as any rotation |
| Tuck | Body position with legs bent at the knees and hips. For competition both angles must be 135 degrees or less and the hands must make contact with the legs below the knees |
| Turntable | From front landing, a full twist to land on front (whilst remaining horizontal) |
| Triffus, triff | Any triple somersault with twist |
| Twister | General term for a twisting single somersault |
| Vol | Short for voluntary routine in competition |
| Wrap | Drawing in the ams to speed up the twist |
