Dear Mr Cass

CHARITY EXEMPTION

I am sorry it has taken so long to follow up my letter of 28 May 1976.

We have now, however, received and considered the views of our legal advisers on the question of charity exemption. You will no doubt be happy to know that we have decided to accept in principle the claim to charitable status.

I shall now refer the papers to my colleagues at Claims Branch and at Cambridge 1st Tax District, the latter of whom will no doubt be getting in touch with you shortly about the practical implementation of the decision.

Yours sincerely

G BRIDDON
