Dear Mr Cass

CHARITY EXEMPTION

The revived claim to charitable exemption by the Cambridge University Press has been referred to this Division for consideration. The matter is one on which - as I am sure will not surprise you - we would wish to have the guidance of our legal advisers. Whilst we will try to avoid any unnecessary delay I am sure you will understand that it may take some little time for the legal considerations to be studied and the conclusions drawn.

I thought it right to let you know the present position. Please feel free to contact me if the need arises.

Yours sincerely

G BRIDDON
