Cambridge University Press's 1975 application for exemption from UK Corporation Tax
Internal Inland Revenue note by W. B. Wilkinson on 1974 phonecall, 10th January 1977
NOTE OF TELEPHONE CONVERSATION
I rang Mashiter, DI Cambridge 2. I read out to him the notes of his conversation with Van Hien and Morris on 9.10.74 and 6.12.74 respectively and the CUP letter of 16.12.76. Mashiter said he stood by his original notes of conversation. He did not recollect any mention of retrospection at all during negotiations. Cass of OUP had first mentioned it to him late in 1976 before Mashiter was due to leave Cambridge 1. [XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - 5+ lines - XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX]*
