Extracts from statutes and ordinances of the Cambridge University, relating to the University Press.

I. Statutes.

Statute A - Chapter V - Boards and Syndicates.

1. There shall be in the University

(1) the following Boards and Syndicates, the composition of which will be determined by Ordinance....

(iii) the Press Syndicate, which shall exercise such functions in respect of the management of the University Press as may be assigned to it by Ordinance.

Chapter VI - powers of the University.

1. The University shall have power for the encouragement of learning, the maintenance of good order and discipline, and the management of its affairs, to enact ordinances and issue Orders (whether by way of exception to an Ordinance or otherwise, provided always that no such Ordinance or Order shall contravene any provision of the Statutes.

Statute F.

Chapter I - The Financial Board.

1. The Financial Board shall consist of the following members:

Chapter II - The Chest, Audit.
4. The Accounts of the Universirt Press shall be audited annually by one or more qualified accountants appointed by the Financial Board. The Financial Board shall in every year appoint one or more members of the Board who shall examine these accounts, confer with the Auditor or Auditors and report of the Board.

II Ordinances.

Press Syndicate.

1. The University Press shall be managed by a Syndicate consisting of the Vice-Chancellor, the Treasurer, and fourteen members of the Senate elected by grace.

2. Two members shall be appointed every year in the following Michaelmas term to serve for seven years by the from the following Thursday of January.

3. No business shall be transacted at any meeting of the Syndicate unless five members at least are present
