As promised I would like to confirm this morning's discussion. Under no circumstances should you divulge your passwords to anybody. These are your personal property and should be safeguarded at all cost. Our IT Manager, Steve, has supervisory privileges and he is able to change your password so that the management may access your systems. I do not ever intend to abuse my position by asking Steve to do so without your consent. May I also refer you to Staff handbook, page 16 under "Security". It states that 'The sharing of user IDs or passwords is prohibited.' In some organisations it is a sackable offence to give your password to anybody. The main objection, among others, of letting any person have your passwords is that the recipient could log in as you and then you could be blamed for manipulation of data as the system will recognise you as a user and not the recipient. I am copying this email to Roger and Steve so that they may respect our views. Please let me know if the above differs from what we spoke about.
Truly yours,
Diamond

Dear Roger
Happy New Year to you. May this year bring happiness for us all. With reference to your letter of 3 January I am completely unaware of any concerns which you may have, as you have not communicated them to me. In order for me to make an effective contribution to the meeting on 13 January, please could you list these and let me have them as soon as possible before the meeting. I would like you to inform me of the agenda prior to this meeting, which should be minuted and then agreed by everyone present. I hope that you had a good holiday.
Yours ever
From: Diamond Versi Organization: Keble College To: Stephen Dexter (Grant Thornton) Copy to: Roger Boden Date sent: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 15:17 Subject: Incorrect assessment of 'MISPOSTS'
Dear Stephen
I have now analysed the list of entries containing the word, MISPOST. From 234 postings supplied 148 were in last year's accounts. They were, in fact, year-end adjustments and should have been picked up by your audit team; but there were no comments from you then. So out of 86 postings this year 52 were reallocation to the new accounts (HESORP compliance). So there were only 34 genuine mispost entries giving rise to only 17 errors. I thought I better report my findings straight away so that you may report correctly.
With all the best wishes.
