Dear Diamond

I have not heard anything further from you in relation to the new post of Financial Controller, and so I understand that, as you had previously stated, you are not applying for the post.

In my letter of 31 March I explained that the College may require you not to serve out your period of notice, and has the option of terminating your employment with immediate effect. The College is exercising that option, and I hereby notify you that your employment with the College will end today, 2 April 2004.

You are entitled to a payment in lieu of the balance of your three month notice period in the sum of £8,449.94. You are also entitled to a statutory redundancy payment of £6,075, and to holiday pay for holidays accrued but not taken to the date your employment ends in the sum of £2,159.35 (less tax and NIC) representing 12 days' holiday. I will arrange for these payments to be made to you in due course and your P45 to be issued.

As I mentioned in my letter of 31 March, you should ensure that all property belonging to the College, including documents in whatever form, and all copies of such documents, is returned to the College as soon as possible. Please could you contact me to confirm that this has been done.
