Witness Statement of John Claxton (pp Diamond Versi), 25th January 2005

I, John Claxton of XXXXXX will say as follows:

1. I was employed by the First Respondent as Executive Chef between June 1985 and August 2001

2. I know Diamond through my employment with Keble College.

3. I recall that Diamond was having problems with his employment and specifically Roger Boden on the following issues:

a. an asian lady was refused a loan by Roger Boden;

b. the recruitment of an asian oriental lady into the accounts department was resisted by Roger Boden unnecessarily;

c. there was an investigation of Diamond for no good reason.

4. 1 was aware that Diamond was having problems with Roger not being reasonable and these problems are as stated above. I recall that Diamond told me about the incidents in mid-2003 and around the time that they were happening. Diamond thought that perhaps it was a racial thing and I said it could be.
