Evidence (Red) File page 21 Transcript of Hardy/Malcolm telephone conversation, 11th January 1985

Malcolm: Hello Mr Hardy.

Hardy: Hello.

Malcolm: Hello, this is Andrew Malcolm.

Hardy: Yes.

Malcolm: 'Making Names', do you remember that?

Hardy: I haven't any news for you, otherwise I would have sent it.

Malcolm: Fine, yes, oh well, sorry to bother you again, but...

Hardy: The person who is reading your book is away in India at the moment and returns on the 26th January, so I hope to have something for you very quickly after that.

Malcolm: Oh I see. He hasn't taken it with him I suppose?

Hardy: I don't know. He'd certainly read more than half of it before he went. Whether he took the rest with him he didn't say.

Malcolm: Ah, well, er, um.

Hardy: I will... at least I can tell you where we've got to by the end of the month.

Malcolm: Yes, well again, don't press him if he's more than half-way, wait for him to get to the end.

Hardy: Yes, well, I'll inquire gently. Don't worry, I shan't forget you.

Malcolm: Okay, okay.

Hardy: All right?

Malcolm: Thanks very much.

Hardy: Bye bye.

Malcolm: Cheers.
