Dear Mr. Malcolm,

UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD

I am sorry not to have replied earlier to your letter of 9 May enquiring about your book Making Names.

Unfortunately, on investigation I discovered that I have long since disposed of the OUP papers I had for the relevant years, so I do not have access to the files and cannot therefore answer your questions.

I have however been in touch with the Press to make my own enquiries and I have passed on your letter to them in the hope that the facts you ask for can be clarified.

Yours sincerely, Michael Atiyah
