Stony Live 2004 Monday June 7th

I am afraid I didn't get many picture for the 7th. On account I was rehearsing for my own night on Thursday. A lot of people don't know the effort that goes into Stony Live. If you imagine there are over 50 different acts, some of them are first time performances or that they don't happen very often means an incredible amount of man hours goes into getting it right for the performing. Still traditionally Monday is one of my favorite nights on account of the Acapella session. Voices in unison without instruments. Before I went there though, I looked my old friends Helzaboppin! up, who, slightly less formal than they normally are, put on a blazing performance.

A lot of people have asked me why some of my photographs are black and white. The simple answer is because I can:-)  but the real answer is that a lot of stage lighting is red and washes out the colour of the photograph so if there is an overdose of red in the picture I usually convert it into Black and White. Still it I think it all adds to the effect.

From Helzaboppin it was straight up to the Acapella session. I don't know what it is but I always enjoy this. Perhaps it is beacsue I learned to sing in choirs that makes me enjoy it so much. I wont say it beats rock and roll but it sure as death and taxes makes it fun. Anybody can join in the chorus' and if you feel up to it you can lead with a song anyway. We always get a variety of  traditional folk, contempary and even some self penned numbers as well. Book early for next year I say.

Anyway more tomorrow.
