Tuesday June 7th 2005 Part 1,

Apparently there is a new expression going round Stony at the moment…. Have you been Andy Powell’d ? J

This I think refers to my tendency to end up in some ones house after each event. Whilst partaking of their  laughter and wine. Got to say thanks to all those people who look after me and provide those friendly landing strips on which I can park me ego on.  I had my whole life mapped out last night. Charged me batteries with a pint and song in the Fox and Hounds open session. Saw The Stony Stratford guided walk go past (nearly a hundred people on it) Flew up to the Crown to see who was Friendly with Penda’s Fen. Was nice to see some friends of  theirs singing who we don’t normally see in Stony.

Couldn’t let the night go buy without popping in to see those lovely ladies Elles Bells in the Plough.  I was pleasantly surprised to see yet another lovely lady Martina singing and playing the piano. Had to wait for Lyn’s clog special and plugged in plank.

I took a deep breath and went down to the Cock Hotel to see the Jazz Night. Lucky enough to see the fantastic D D Powers and caught the opening few bars of the Dave King Allstars. Sorry I missed the other acts.

And finished back in the Fox to sing a blues song, which a guy (wish I new his name) bought me a drink to request. There was also a nice bunch young lads who call themselves Terapin Train Station. They were excellent, I know we are going to see a lot more these people. Its really good when we have some new faces at these open sessions.

And Tuesday night candidate for being Andy Powell’d was Ian and Irene Entwhistle who gave me a lift home to protect their couch from the spillage of red wine. Thanks guys much appreciated.
