Welcome to the Stony Live 2003 Diary. If you have some of your own either email them to me andy@stonylive.org or give me a hard copy and I can scan them in (You will catch me at most events... I'm the guy with the Austin Powers Glasses!) . At the bottom of every page of photographs you will find my miss spelt ramblings of the day. Enjoy!!! Monday 9th June. Pagan Chalice and Acapella
I have really made a rod for my own back. I have tried to get around most of the venues to t6ake pictures and enjoy the events. After a while it becomes a driving force, but at least I get to see as many people as possible. This night was Pagan Chalice, Helzaboppin and the Acapella session now up stairs in the Crown. Trevor and Cathy from Pagan Chalice have put a lot of work into writing a small musical about the course of a normal day. I was really pleased to see so many turn up and see them. The one thing Stony Live encourages the people of our musical community to stretch themselves and put in that little extra effort that hopefully you see the results of at our festival. Cathy set was very atmospheric and the Crow was really good, didn't move all night. Another well attended event was the Helzaboppin gig. I love these guys they just swing. If your foot isn't tappin on the first beat, you probably need to check if you still have legs! I saw the weird sight of Ant's shadow dancing on the wall with Joes Sax also reflecting off the wall. Tried to get a picture of it. But it was a bit dark. Mark the lead singer is getting married soon to. So don't forget to congratulate him. I ended up at one of my favourite events of the week. This is the Acapella session. No instruments just the power of the human voice. The acoustics up stairs in the recently refurbished Crown, were incredible, you hear every voice. The songs were excellent as well, everything from Fathom the Bowl to If Tomorrow Never Comes, a well known country song from Roddy. |
