Diary Saturday June 15th 2002Thank you to all those people who have come up to me and said how much they have enjoyed the web site and the photos. It makes me feel that it has been worth while. I have had an exceptional week, I hope you have and that these few ramblings make it even more memorable. The day started like most of the population with me watching the football. Nice result. The first half I watched at home and, being drawn by the magnetism of Stony Live, decided to go and watch the second half at The Vaults Bar. Pete Cripps was very grateful that all these extra people had come along to watch Pete Cripps and friends. It started with Ana singing some beautiful self penned songs. I have got to say with people dressed as lions and blowing bugles, and shouting Engerland..Engerland.. etc I thought she was the bravest person I had ever met. Pete kept them in order though.. well done Pete. On the bill was a young guy from London called Jaunt.. He was exceptional. Watch this space you are going to see this guy famous before to long. I don't know if anybody noticed,, but I then tried my hand at a bit of busking at the high street. I sung and played for about and hour and I made £2.65. Hardest pennies I have ever worked for. Fortunately currently there are no photographs of this street clearing performance. My apologies to all those people who said to me afterwards. If we new this was happening we would have come and busked to.. My fault I should have issued a call to arms earlier. We will make a bigger effort on this next year because I think this something we can improve, this successful festival.. In the evening it was the turn of the now well established, Barndance in the market Square. Matt Armour leading the Gaberlunzies in his own style, who continued to pick on this twin left footed.. banjo picker. However, after a while he didn't need me to make up the numbers as it seemed that a good part of Stony Stratford was there. I must admit I really enjoyed seeing all those people having a good time. I also had a chance to speak to some old friends of mine in St John Ambulance. They helped us at Togfest a couple of years ago. Let me tell you these guys can save peoples lives and not get paid a penny!!! Hats off to Clive and his team from the Wolverton branch. At the Barn Dance I think I took one of my favourite picture so far. This is of the two young girls Lisa and Sian dancing together. I just like the feeling of Life that it gives. Sneaking away from Matt Armours watchful eye.. I went and saw Steve Wright and Potion in the Oak room. Steve is the archetypal Rock God who writes some cracking songs. Ask him to sing Freedom next time you see him. Steve from Australia.. supports a lot of live music in this area so it was good to see him doing his stuff for a change. I gather from all account that The War of the Worlds night was also a resounding success again.. Anyway only one more day to go and you can catch me at the Bob Dylan night in the fox on Sunday. I'm also treating the family to the big event in the Bowl.. for putting up with my late nights. So I will see Ronan Keating and Roddy Clenaghan in the same day!!!!! By the way.. I am not the only guy taking photographs. You may have seen Reg walking around with his long lense during the week. Hw will be putting his portfolio on show in the Fox and Hounds very shortly. Pop along there and order some of the pictures. Reg puts in a lot of time and makes very little money.. so please give him your support.
