*Cultivated land can only be purchased if a built-up area is purchased.

There is no limit on the size of an individual terrain piece, except that a built-up area cannot exceed 600p x 600p. A battlefield may have more than one built-up area, however. Note that although there is no size limit on terrain, at least half of the battlefield must be flat, good going, as described in the rules.

Victory

Players should determine how many years the campaign should run for, and determine prestige at the end.

Variants

It should be relatively easy to add other nations to this campaign. Other European powers could get involved, such an Italian army aided by the devices of Leonardo Da Vinci. The jungles of South America could include lost civilisations, not all of them human. Lizardmen and dinosaurs could lurk beneath the trees. The map could be expanded to the north, and include North American Indian tribes. I even considered the possibility of a Chinese or Japanese force arriving from the East.

It's your game; use your imagination.
