Atlantis
An Army List for 'Hordes of the Things'
By Alan Saunders
The list is mainly derived from 'The Story of Atlantis' by W. Scott Elliot (1896), with some minor additions from 'Atlantis, the Antediluvian World' by Ignatius Donnelly (1882).

Scott Elliot claims that the Atlanteans were using gunpowder from early times, so the majority of Atlantean soldiery are assumed to be armed with some sort of gunpowder projectile weapon. Early Atlanteans are assumed to have lower technology weapons mixed in; increase the proportion of blades, spears and bows the further back you go. Airships were a major Atlantean invention, ranging from small personal transports to war vessels carrying up to 100 soldiers. Riding animals do not appear to be mentioned, so, although they cannot be ruled out, I have not included any mounted troops.
For some superb visuals of Atlantean airboats, try and find the Patrick Woodruffe cover to the album 'The Sentinel' by Pallas.
