Brigadier Bambera is head of the UK section of U.N.I.T. in the 1990s. The U.N.I.T. she serves in is different to that commanded by her predecessor, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, having a more international make up which reflects the disintegrating national boundaries of her time.

Although suffering from a closed military mind, she seems ready to accept the unusual, and attempt to deal with it accordingly. She has a confrontational nature, and tends to react aggressively to other people being brusque and direct even with allies, but this should not be mistaken for unfriendliness. Rather, she reacts badly to being pushed around or to anyone or anything that disrupts her plans. She is brave and resourceful but not so hotheaded not to realise when a situation calls for a strategic withdrawal.

Brigadier Bambera is a stern faced black woman with short dark reddish-brown hair and dark eyes. Her clothing consists of camouflaged combat fatigues and a blue beret with an eagle insignia. Although she normally carries a pistol, she has no compunction about using other available small arms if the need arises.

(Reference material for Brigadier Bambera is limited, as she only appeared in one adventure, ‘Battlefield’. I have based most of her skills on those of Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart, as they seem to relate to a military background. I have changed some of them to give her a more outdoor ‘active service’ feel, and to reflect that she seems to be as much a fighter as a leader, more so than her predecessor. The 'Edged Weapons' skill was given her as she seemed quite capable of handling a sword when fighting Mordred's men, and her high 'Indomitable Will' reflects the fact that her mind was not drained by Morgaine's mind probe. Her personality is based solely on information from ‘Battlefield’ so may not leave her as fully fleshed out as some characters. It leaves scope for referees to develop her as they see fit.)
