Modern Central Africa Lost Viking Dinosaur Herders
Lists for ‘Hordes of the Things’

This is the history as far as I can piece it together from the films:

The Modern Central African Lost Viking Dinosaur Herders are descended from those Vikings that headed for America but did not get there. Due to faulty compass readings and a massive gap in the plot, they found their way to a lost valley in the Congo, where they were able to survive for many years undisturbed by the goings on of the outside world. Their only real contact was with the tribe of Lost Neanderthals who lived across the valley from them. Being Vikings, they quickly adapted to the local conditions and domesticated some of the dinosaurs that roamed this valley. In this way, they were able to survive for many years until a bunch of cowboys, who were also a little lost, happened upon the valley. These cowboys introduced the Vikings to guns and tried to capture a Tyrannosaur for the circus. This led to the Vikings gaining a small store of guns. Then, at the start of the twentieth century, Troy (or Doug) McClure (or was it Trampas?) arrived to further disturb the peace of the valley in his Zeppelin. This heralded the arrival of many other intrusions, including German submarines and Congolese mercenaries. Thus we arrive at the present day, where we find a well-armed Viking colony still in conflict with the Neanderthals across the valley, but now also in conflict with the descendents of the survivors of the cowboy expedition and the descendents of the U-boat crew. Of course, there are still feral dinosaurs in this valley too and they must be fought/culled at intervals.

Of course, I am now wondering if there might not be aliens or even Aliens(tm) in the jungle too, and it could make a good home for Predators. Hmm, Sounds like a very crowded part of the world. Perhaps I shall not move there after all.
