History: In 1952 Kajiro attacked Tokyo and was defeated by an experimental freeze-ray. Energies from this ray leaked into the waters of Tokyo Bay, where they combined with cells from Kajiro itself before they found their way into the various forms of life that lived in the bay. Over many decades some of these creatures mutatated until, one day in 1998, they swarmed out of the waters and into the city. Although the swarm was made up of thousands of sea creatures, they seemd to act with a single mind, devouring all in their path. As the swarm fed, it grew, but slowly the Japanese SDF and rapidly deployed UNSAC forces begane to drive it back and contain it. To their surprise, however, the swarm coalesced and formed a single, giant, arthropod entity with huge sickle claws and many legs, now dubbed Gouka. This counter-attacked and drove off the human units but was soon enganed by the space-turtle Honu. Once again, defeat seemed inevitable for Gouka but, once again, it reformed itself, this time into a slower, stronger creature with a passing resemblence to a winged and horned Kajiro. Honu struggled against this new form, but the human units had, by now, rallied, and together they attacked and defeated Gouka. As it fell it broke down into its component creatures, which dispersed back into the bay.
