HOTTICE 2003 Report
By Chow Li

Well, HOTT ICE is over and we have a new national champion....

In an unbeleavible upset. JOEL GREGORY, the Cinderella boy from Pequot Lakes, MN!

In a five player round (robin?) Joel came from behind and literally pick pocketed the title from Chow Li who was well in the lead at the half (going mano y mano, Arthur vs Amra "the Lion", that's Conan to you and me). In a single, Hero General vs Spear General, combat game and one die roll. [Chow li 0 Joel 48] Joel was later heard to say that he "...had to do it that way. It was either that or get killed by his Magician."

Stu came in second after a very long and very close championship round. Bill held a solid third place, Chow Li, crushed from his defeat against Joel, came in fourth. Mike came in fifth. But, Mike did have fun, so I guess he really won.

Overall, the games went 2 and 2 for all players with the two top players facing off for the championship.

Mike took the Stronghold award and Bill the best painted army.

The Holiday Inn Mason City was great. Nice hall and nice folks. Those of you that missed it really did miss it.
