The Battle of Huaqui

Alto Peru, June 20th 1811

The Revolutionaries eventually advanced to Huaqui where they established their camp. After a four week truce, during which both sides recruited assitional troops, the Royalists attacked. Advancing along a series of ravines in three columns they drove the Revolutionaries away. After this battle, the Revolutionaries fell back to Northern Argentina.
