Army Lists for Hordes of the Things
by Chow Li
Introduction
Inspired by Edgar Rice Burroughs book of the same name, a.k.a. 'Beyond Thirty'.
I picked up a copy of this book and read it non-stop. A very fun story. I can best describe it as past-future-alternate history. Burrough,in 1915 writes a story about the 22nd century. The Americans have anti-gravity flying submarines in the 22nd century but still use wireless operators to send code. They also still use revolvers and magazine rifles and compasses. The gist is this. Europe is in WW I. The Americas decide to mind their own business and stay out of it and kill anybody that crosses the 30th lateral in either direction). Europe destroys itself, sending itself back to the the stone-age. 200 years later Africa unites and takes over Southern Europe while Asia unites and takes Eastern Europe. The two empires collide in Germany. Pan-America is still minding its own business.
