Having recently been lucky enough to see Mononoke Hime (a Japanese anime film which is going to be released this summer to the theaters in the US), I started thinking about how to build up an army based on this film. So this is my interpretation and I will definitely have a challenge in trying to produce this thing in 15mm.

Stronghold: A forest grove
1 Behemoth General - Okkotonushi, a huge white blind boar god @ 4 pts.
1 Beasts - Mononoke Hime (aka San) and two huge white wolves @ 2 pts.
1 Hero - Ashitaka mounted on a creature that is a cross between an antelope and a yak @ 4 points
5 Warbands - these are warbands made up of giant boars, wearing white warpaint (Each is about as tall as a human) @ 2 pts.
4 Hordes - shoujous (ape gods), again as tall as a human @ 1 pt.

Options: 1 god (Shishi Gama - a large multihorned antelope like creature with a human like face) @ 4 points or 1 dragon (or maybe it's a behemoth) - this is a creature called Didarabocchi. It is a nightime form that Shishi Gama sometimes takes. It is huge (stands above the treetops), stands erect and is semitransparent.

Most of the creatures referred to above as "gods" is using the terminology that the movie used. These are all supposed to be forest gods, but the only one that seemed to really have godlike powers is Shishi Gama.
