The Emishi
The Emishi, who appear at the start of the film, are the primitive inhabitants of Japan. The more aggressive Japanese people have driven them into remote village hideouts.

The additional Emishi warriors are influenced by the DBA Emishi list. A Yakkuru looks like a large Ibex. The film's hero, Ashitaka, goes about wandering and joins various factions during the film, so I have listed him under options below.
The Iron workers
The Iron Workers, led by Lady Eboshi, are a very mixed lot. They have set up their small city to mine iron ores. They need wood for their smelting, and are cutting down the forest. Apart from producing iron and weapons, they also develop and make gunpowder weapons.
