The Mummy Returns
Army Lists for 'Hordes of the Things'
By Jay Woolrich

I couldn't resist seeing this silly follow-up movie The Mummy Returns, which is thoroughly daft but could form the basis of an excellent three-way HOTT scenario, with troops something like the following (bearing in mind that a lot of the classifications are rather down to personal interpretation) taking the field.

The Good Guys

Hero general @ 4AP

(Rick O'Connell, Evelyn and Jonathon)

1

Lurker @ 1AP

(Alex)

1

Hero @ 4AP

(Ardeth Bey, chief of the Magii - Bearded black-clad Arabic warrior, guns and sword)

1

Airboat @ 3AP

(Patched-up old balloon with suspended fishing boat)

1

Riders or Blades @ 2AP

(The 12 Tribes of the Majii - Arab fighters in black on foot and horseback with guns and/or swords)

6

Stronghold - English country mansion (or snip the Airship from the above list and use it, beached in dense jungle, as the stronghold instead)

The Bad Guys - Imhotep's Followers

Magician general @ 4AP

(Imhotep and Anck-su-namun)

1

Blade @ 2AP

(Lock-Nah and Mr Hafez)

1

Blades @ 2AP

(Mummified Egyptian guards)

4

Shooters or Blades @ 2AP

(Hafez's troops - Arab fighters on foot in red and maroon robes, guns and swords)

5

Stronghold - Egyptian tomb

Notes: Most of Hafez's troops should be Shooters. Lock-Nah could have his own stand and fight as a Hero or Blade, with Mr Hafez acting as perhaps a Sneaker

The Bad Guys #2 - The Army of the Scorpion King

Behemoth general @ 4AP

(The Scorpion King - half man, half scorpion, all beefcake]

1

Blades @ 2AP

(Anubis warriors - jackal-headed warriors with hand-weapons)

8

Lurkers @ 1AP

(Pygmy skeleton warriors with knives and blow-pipes)

4

Stronghold - Pyramid in dense jungle

The Anubis warriors - the only really legitimate reason for watching the movie IMHO ;O) - are big and Blade-like, but die quite easily (despite their reputation) and are as numberless as the desert sands themselves, so could be regraded as Hordes. Take your pick. The Pygmy skeleton warriors are probably best portrayed as Lurkers, hiding in that dense foliage just over there..........although they could also act as Hordes, at a pinch.
