The Battle of Pantano de Vargas

New Granada, 25th July 1819

Having crossed the Andes, Bolivar encountered a Royalist force in a strong position and awaiting reinforcements. Bolivar attacked, dislodging the Royalists, and foiling a flanking attack through swampland by cavalry.
