'Hordes of the Things' Lists for 'The Phantom Menace'

Having just seen "Star Wars: The Phantom Menance", I thought that I would give a crack at HOTTizing two of the armies shown.

Editor's Note: both of these armies only come out to 23AP. Since they are really designed to fight each other, however, this should not be a problem. Anyone with ideas or modifications to these lists should feel free to send them in.

 Gungan Army

Boss Noss riding one of the large Gungan beast as a Behemoth General @ 4 AP

Energy sphere throwing catapults as Artillery @ 3 AP

Gungan cavalry on two legged beasts as Riders @ 2 AP

Gungan infantry as Warbands @ 2 AP

Options:

JarJar Binks as Rider General @ 2 AP, reclassifying Gungan infantry as Shooters and Spears (both @ 2 AP each) instead of Warbands, Jedi Heroes (Qoun, Obi Wan, and throw in Jar Jar Binks for comic relief, all on one base) at 4 pts. Use this unit in place of the artillery.

 

Trade Federation Army

Trade Federation Transport as Airboat General @ 3 AP

Hover Tanks as Knights @ 2 AP

Combat Droids on one-man hover gun platform as Riders @ 2 AP

1

Combat Droids as Blades @ 2 AP

Options:

Destroyer Droids as Riders @ 2

 

Choosing a Trade Federation Transport as the Airboat General is a compromise since the combat droids don't really have a Droid General. (If you've seen the movie, you will know what I mean).

These two armies will definitely use up a few Micro-Machine Star Wars sets, and you will have to settle for some scale discrepancies if you use the include Gungan beast for the general. There are also no figures of the Gungan riders, who remind me a lot of the Polish Winged Hussars.
