Mercenaries Fighting in Ancient Greece – Part1
After their first success the
proud Greeks decided they don't need any "mercenaries" and fielded an
all-Spear army with one Rider.
Lessons learnt:
Behemoths definitely don't
like facing double-ranked Spear.
If you have Dragons, use
them!
Is an all-Spear army more
effective without any magical creatures?
This time the badly beaten
Macedonians decided to keep both their Behemoths in the rear and to exhaust the
solid line of Greek Spear first with their Hordes.

But the first Horde died
instantly, followed quickly after by the first Macedonian Spear.

Then 2 more Macedonian Spear
fell down outflanked …

… and though the Macedonians
finally managed to kill the Greek Rider, their Dragon flew away from the Greek
Spear General. When finally the Greeks killed the Macedonian Warband all was
over! The resurrected Hordes never made it into contact.
More lessons learnt
The Spear are definitely
tough.
Behemoths definitely don't like
them.
The Dragons only look
impressive.
An all-Spear army is more
effective without any magical creatures!
