Clone Army: 'Attack of the Clones' and 'Revenge of the Sith'
An Army List for 'Hordes of the Things'
By John James

This army came about because I had seen a couple of Star Wars armies at a Bristol club HOTT tournament. Naturally I didn’t want to copy them so I thought by fielding new armies from the prequels my gaming conscience was clear.

You could either do the army on a budget, using 1/76 mm Micro Machines on 15mm bases, or find a generous sponsor and buy Wizards of the Coast 28mm plastic collectables. I have include some figure notes after the list so you can scour e-bay for these models.

Magician general @ 4AP (Yoda) 1
Shooters @ 2AP (Clones with blaster rifle) 1-4
Blades @ 2AP (Clones with pistol/carbine) 1-6
Airboat @ 3AP (Republic Gunship) 1-2
Behemoth @ 4AP (AT-TE walker) 1-2
Knights @ 2AP (Jedi Warriors) 1-2

Stronghold: Republic Landing Ship

Episode III Options: Behemoth @ 4AP (Wheeled Juggernaught), Beast @ 2AP (One-man AT RT Walker), Flier @ 2AP (Arc fighter), Dragon @ 4AP (Republic Star Destroyer)

Figure notes:
Clones - If you have oodles of cash, the Attack of the Clones version of Risk will provide you with enough 1/76 figures to last the Clone Wars! In 28mm Wizards of the Coast do Clones which come cheap on e-bay. But if like me you are skint - use the 1/76 mm Micro machine Stormtroopers. Now before the purists are enraged, take a look at the Episode 3 clones. Basically they are stormtroopers, except they have a black vertical stripe between the 'mouth' and the middle of the brow. Commanders have yellow thigh plates and troopers have red or blue shoulder armour plates, and splashes on the greaves, calf and thigh plates. The 1/76 scale Micro Machine stormtrooper figures aren't exactly brilliantly painted or accurate, so a few coloured stripes here and there and you’ve got some clones.
Jedi Warriors - Micro machines do 1/76 (Yoda, Kenobi and Quinn Gon; maybe Galoob will release more.) WotC have all the Jedi in 28mm.
Gunship - In 1/76 scale you can get the Republic Gunship from the toy Die Cast Titanium series. In 25mm from Action Fleet (try e-bay for both)
AT-TE Walker - Only one Action Fleet toy but it straddles the two scales.
ARC Fighter - 28mm: Revell Model kit (at present)
Republican Star Destroyer - Revell Model kit (at present)
AT RT - Titanium series (1/72) Revel Model Kit (28mm)
Juggernaught - I strongly suspect this will be coming out in toy or model kit form to bankrupt parents before Christmas!
