Well you know what they say bro. "If you go down to the woods today....." Sounds like a cue for a Teddy Bears' Picnic list. So I'll get my ideas in first:

Beasts for most of the army of course.

Optionals:

Lurkers - ‘cos you're sure of a big surprise.....
Hero - Grizzly Adams Hairy Human with check shirt and braces eco warrior for ursine causes.
Behemoth - Beorn from ‘The Hobbit’
Cleric - Priest(ess) from ‘Shardik’, though as I recall they weren't too nice
Stronghold - Fortress Forest Cottage(optionally Gingerbread) with Daddy Bear, Mummy Bear and Baby Bear, barricades of broken furniture and cauldrons of boiling porridge.
Sneaker - Goldilocks well known for breaking into such fortresses.

Possible allies - Winnie the Pooh army.
