Regarding the Hordes, Karl Heinz Ranitzsch writes:
Bosons, presumably ? Though these would not only be able to regenerate but also to be multiplied indefinitely. Fermions would be a better fit for hordes, though they are quanta of matter, not energy. Of course there's e=mc**2
And don't forget neutrinos - sneakers - can pass through anything.
